Now that I got the domain renewed, it's time for me to get the ball rolling once again on the Bolts so that I can get the group back up to speed.
Here's the list of plans for today, and possibly some extras if I can squeeze them in.
- Hamachi up and running
Free version is up currently. Caps at 5, with me already in there taking a slot up.
Name = Shadowbolts.org
Password = vidya
For the time being, it'll mostly be used for streaming purposes and impromptu play sessions. Once there's a steady of people wanting to actually play as a group, I'll look into putting the money into upgrading the slots we got to utilize.
It'll also give me time to secure a new power adapter for an older router I have laying around, so I can use an older laptop to act as a dedicated server for the TS3 and Hamachi. Or I'll have to buy a new one.
- TS3 private server up and running
Requires being on Hamachi and connecting to my address, but it should be up and running, unless I botched it. The sound quality trumps other options like Steam talk and Skype, on top of people being connected to host games, makes it a nice side bonus.
- Polls
Now that the group is back in action and open to the public once more, more data can be collected. Two polls I plan to do for now are "What day would you like to see a weekly Game Night set on?" and "What game would you like to play on Game Night?"
Figure that those would be times to make sure the Hamachi is up depending on what people are wanting to play, and also be a good chance to get feedback about other games people want to play together, or even new or unheard of ones. Even the suckiest of games can be fun with good company.
- Steam Chat
I need to get into the habit of actually using that thing, especially since Year 2 is going to be focusing more on being cheap to save bucks and utilizing Steam to organize playing games instead of relying on forum tag like Year 1. So yeah, don't be a stranger, hop into the steam chat for our group and let's talk games or anything sometime.
Testing the comments, since I believe you bypass captcha if you're signed into Blogger, and also noting I've updated the layout and design a bit more today as an unexpected plus.
